The Women Amplify the Voice of Electroacoustic (WAVE) Music Festival is excited to announce a call for works for its inaugural festival on May 9, 2026 at the University of Oregon.

WAVE Festival is an electroacoustic music festival founded to showcase the creative and brilliant contributions of women to the field. In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (May), the theme of this year’s festival is the diversity of Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures. All women composers and multimedia artists from Asia or the Pacific Islands, or those of Asian or Pacific Islander heritage, regardless of age or place of residence are invited to submit their works to this call.

Submissions will go through a double-blind review. In the review process, preference will be given to works with durations of 7 minutes or less, as well as works written within the last 5 years.

Submission Guideline:

  1. Please download and fill out the submission form [word,pdf].

  2. Only fixed media pieces (up to 8 channels) are accepted due to the format of the festival. Multichannel works must be submitted as high-quality stereo mixes.

  3. Fixed media with video or video art works are accepted. Please note that we will not accept documentation of live performances.

  4. Please do not attach your submissions to the email itself. Instead please submit links to your files via Google Drive, Dropbox, Vimeo, Baidu, YouTube, or other file sharing service.

  5. Both audio and video works must be submitted in compressed formats.

  6. All media files should be anonymous. Please make sure to remove markings in the file, the file’s meta data, or links that you’ve shared. Works that are not properly anonymized will not be reviewed.

  7. To submit this call, email the submission form to wavefestsound@gmail.com with the subject “WAVE Fest Submission 2026”.

  8. Attendance at the festival is encouraged but not required.

  9. Submission fee: none.

  10. One submission per person.

Submission Timeline:

The deadline for receipt of materials is 11:59pm on March 20 March 27, 2026 AoE.

Anticipated notification date: April 20, 2026.

Concert date: May 9, 2026.
